Tullibardine Distillery

If you pop onto the A9 main arterial road and drive 10 minutes west from the Cairn, you can find your way to the must-visit attraction that is Tullibardine Distillery and Visitor Centre.

The Distillery
The Tullibardine Distillery which sits on our doorstep is one of only a small number of Scottish distilleries that makes its’ whisky from start to finish on site. The whisky is distilled, matured and then bottled all in one place. It is family owned and they are extremely proud of their traditional approach to making single malt whisky.

The Whisky
Tullibardine specialises in single malt whisky. They have several collections, so there is sure to be something to interest you. Their sovereign and wood finish whisky have all been aged in barrels that were previously used for other spirits or wines, giving them an extra dimension of flavour. Their aged collection features a 20 year and 25 year aged whisky.

They also have a few special bottles in their custodian collection, some of which are over 60 years old. You can try a dram of the ones that take your fancy at the bar or take a bottle home from the shop to remember your visit.

Tours
If you want to explore the distillery, you have a range of tours from which to choose. The Classic Tour lasts 45 minutes and ends with a tasting of two single malts at the bar. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a Whisky & Chocolate Tour. At the end of this tour you get four drams of whisky each with a matching truffle. For those who are more interested in the details of the process, there is an In-Depth Tour which offers you the opportunity to ‘nose’ some of the casks.

If you can’t decide between these tours, you can always go for the Connoisseur Tour which takes two hours, so that it can contain highlights of all the other tours.

Planning A Visit

Tours are best booked in advance either by telephone or email, they are available seven days a week. Children over the age of five are welcome on the tour. You should plan to wear sensible shoes for your visit – no open toes or heels.
