This five star attraction re-opens in 2022 after its devastating fire in 2021. It is a living history centre, museum and educational centre, and importantly it guarantees you a warm welcome. This was built as a result of underwater discoveries dating back 2500 years.
Since the fire, the Trust has doubled its redevelopment, which will also include a woodman’s yard, artists’ hub, performance spaces, gift shop and café.
Museums Galleries Scotland said: “The Scottish Crannog Centre plays a key role in the local community and region and sets an excellent example for the sector nationally.” You can also see some of the discoveries in the exhibition area before walking over water into the Iron Age Crannog.
Regular events include featuring artists, musicians, skilled craft workers and other specialists who, together with the team of Iron Age guides, actively bring the past to life.
There is a gift shop and a small, light and healthy refreshments snack bar.
For opening times please check the Crannog Centre website.
