Garden Restaurant

Sometimes our unique Victorian Glasshouse setting says it all, dining in the latter part of the day in our light-filled conservatory amidst olive trees and plants, you feel part of something intimate. During the day, the light and garden colours flood in and adjust this place of ‘pretty into beauty’. It’s clear a lot of love and thought has gone into the décor and design, but importantly the attention and the the cooking.

Now the ritual of Afternoon tea, which we are told has existed since 1840, was the original luxury of the rich, famous indeed sophisticated, this is all exquisite at Cairn.

Complete with the parade of perfectly rectilinear finger sandwiches, Chocolate choux cakes made with fine Valrhona chocolate and of course our warm and dainty scones all delivered smoothly. Our show stopping stand out dish with our Afternoon tea will always be our roast Lemon meringue cake. The texture of our cakes is indeed perfection, imaginative and beautifully presented. But consider enjoying and reminiscing over a glass of rose petal prosecco for the ultimate treat.

From the Dinner menu try if it is on the ‘Farm to Fire’ charred Blairgowrie Hispi cabbage with brown shrimp, lemon, flaked sea salt butter which is really ace. While we are on it let us not forget our house signature ‘Baked onion soup in puff pastry’.

All of Chefs ingredients are box fresh and the menu regularly changes with explosive and well-married flavours producing fresh and imaginative Scottish inspired dishes (you may occasionally see Chef rushing out of the Kitchen to pick from our garden herb patch).

Whatever our menus, be it ripped, torn and scruffy dish or another so precise, exact and smart, it starts with …flavour. The Sunday roasts with dripping pudding (Yorkshire puddings) are a big big attraction.
